Yetunde Oladejo – Osogbo
A 26-year-old woman, Toromade Damilola has been sentenced to three years imprisonment by an Osun state Magistrate court sitting in Ile-Ife for cutting another woman’s neck with a razor blade.
The convict, who pleaded guilty to the one count charge of assault levelled against her, prayed the magistrate to temper justice with mercy.
In her judgment, Mrs A.A. Olowolagba, said that it was very unfortunate and saddened that a young lady like the convict could have engaged herself in inflicting injury on the body of a young woman like herself.
Olowolagba noted that the convict would have engage herself in a more productive activity rather than public assault.
The Magistrate stated further that people like the convict should be kept under lock and key until she is totally rehabilitated.
“In view of this, the convict is hereby sentenced to three years imprisonment without an option of fine, and this would serve as deterrent to others.”
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the convict committed the offence on July 15, 2018 around 10:40 am at Oduduwa College Road, Ile-Ife.
